Desert plants take longer to fill its leaves with oxygen.
What are possible explanations for our results?
This may be because the succulent leaves we used are a lot thicker or that desert plants perform photosynthesis at a slower rate.
How do the data we collected and our reasoning with scientific ideas support our claim?
The only half of the succulent plant leaves in the baking soda water did not rise until 20 minutes, a lot slower than spinach leaves.
What future experiments could be done to expand on the results of this experiment?
We could use leaves of the same size and wait for a longer time for all the leaves to rise because only one leaf had risen in the water with breath at 22:55 when we had to clean up. If we allow all the leaves to rise, we would have more information to make out claim. |
