Photosynthesis Lab

Project by group othsmikosspring2020

Explore We know that photosynthesis needs carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight to perform. We also know that cellular respiration is the opposite form of photosynthesis. Plants create energy to store for times when they can’t use photosynthesis anymore.
Research Question Will the leaves perform photosynthesis if the water is cold? How will this effect the process and speed of the leaves that float?
Predictions The leaves will not perform photosynthesis because when it gets cold outside, plants can’t perform photosynthesis.
Experimental Design First, we will get 2 cups of cold water. (as cold as the sink will let us, or we can put ice in a bowl and buy the cup in the bowl) Then, we can take the air out of the leaves and put them into the cups and see how long it takes to perform photosynthesis, and which one will take longer.
