"Lettuce" do the work

Project by group ossstephensfall2017

Explore We know that plants grow outside they need sunlight, water, soil, and carbon dioxide to survive. In class we learned about how plants go through photosynthesis and cellular respiration. We also learned that plants create sugar and oxygen.
Research Question We wanted to study how salt water affects how a plant grows. We came up with this question because we wanted to observe how the water helps or hinders the plant's ability to grow.
Predictions I think the plants with the salt will wilt and die and the plants with distilled water will grow healthy, although the salt water could help the plant grow larger than the plants with distilled water.
Experimental Design For our design we have chosen to grow lettuce within 2 growth chambers, each grown chamber will have 10 seeds evenly spread throughout it. we have mixed 25 g of road salt into the soil of a growth chamber and we put no road salt in the other. We will record our data using a chart showing how every seed in both chambers has germinated. We have given each chamber 50 ml of water and will continue doing so as needed
