Project by group nebuzzellspring2017

Explore Plants die if not exposed to the right conditions for growing, like temperature and soil conditions. Plants use different abilities to adapt to different climates. How did plants adapt to environments? Why do only certain plants grow in certain climates and parts of the world?
Research Question We are going to test and study what would happen if crops were flooded and exposed to wind for an hour. We have been learning about plants and want to test why different environments let plants grow differently.
Predictions Everyone in our group said that the plants would die. The plants would not survive because of to much water and the wind could damage their leaves.
Experimental Design We are going to plant 15 radish seeds in bottles two inches a part 1 1/2 inches deep, for about three weeks, When we grow the plants so it is flooded and then put a fan on the plant for an hour and see if the plant will survive. We will measure every other day. Material list Wind= fan water seeds soil 4 2Liter bottles First, we will plant the seeds. Second, we will record data and water every other day. Then, once are plants grow, we will start an experiment. The fan will be on high for an hour for a class and half an hour for another class. During the wind, we will flood our plants and then record our observations. We hopefully in the next two weeks will be ready to start and finish our experiment
Conclusion In the end of this project after flooding and putting wind on our plants, we came to a conclusion. After wind was put on the plants, they died. When flooded, the plants did not die. Our graph will show our averages for our experiment. We learned from this that if a windy storm came through on radish plants, they would die. This could be because the plants could not go through photosynthesis once the major wind hit them. Our experiment is useful to agronomy because we can be more aware of what farmers do and we can help them prepare for more storms. We can get material that can protect plants from a long and powerful storm.
