Project by group mhsmirandaspring2020

Explore As a group, our prior knowledge extends to understanding the basic factors that affect plant growth because we partook in numerous science courses such as Biology, Chemistry, Animal/Plant Physiology, Crop Science, Ag economy, and now Advance Sustainable Agriculture. Based on what we have been told recently we know we will need to have a controlled experiment so we can something to compare our results to. As of right now we predict that the lukewarm water will benefit the plant growth more than the other water options. We hope these results will help us answer our big question; "How can we use our results to our advantage when it comes to learning how we can feed the world."
Research Question How does the temperature of water affect plant growth?
Predictions ¨Utilizing tepid water will altogether influence the development of radish seeds contrasted with hot and cold water.¨
Experimental Design Materials: Radish seeds Water -Cold water - Room Temperature Water -Lukewarm water - Hot water Ordinary planting soil Thermometer Growing light Containers for growing the seed/ (3 by 2) Beaker Hot plate Degree into celcius Rulers Procedure: Step 1: Gather all the materials that we are going to use and organize them. Step 2: Next we decide what temperatures of water we use. Step 3: Then we will get 24 seeds for every pot, and we are going to use 12 pots. Step 4: We will plant the 24 seeds in natural soil from Mendota High School. Step 5: For every pot the temperatures of water are going to vary, so we are using hot, lukewarm, room temperature and cold water. - We will use a hot plate in order to ensure the hot water is consistently the same temperature, we will also use a thermometer to measure the water temperature. Step 6: Then we record which radish plants grow the fastest and healthiest. Group Arrangements: Josefina: Record cold water results/ observation Measure the growth of the plants Rosendo: Record hot water results/ observation Plant the seeds Brenda: Record Lukewarm water results/ observation Jazmin: I am going to water the plants consistently (50 ml). Take pictures of growth every 2 days Water the plants 5 days except Saturday and Sundays
