Research Question if we add rocks to our soil will it effect plant growth?
Predictions we think our plant will grow slower because of the roots not hitting the soil.
Experimental Design Control Group: Mason Jar, add 10cm of soil to mason jar, plant one pea seed in the soil. Cover the pea in 2cm of soil. Place the jar in a sunny spot. Add 10ml of water every other day. After you water the plant, measure how tall the plant is using a ruler and record heights in the planting science data table. Experimental Group: Mason Jar, fill jar with 5cm of soil and 5-ish cm of approximately 1.5cm rocks, plant one pea seed in the soil. Add 2cm of 1.5cm rocks on top of the seed. Place the jar in a sunny spot. Add 10ml of water every other day. After you water the plant, measure how tall the plant is using a ruler and record heights in the planting science data table.
