Research Question | Will the amount of water given to the plant each day affect its growth and health? |
Predictions | We think the one with more water will grow more. |
Experimental Design | We will fill 2 egg cartoon sized thing with backyard soil and put a pea seed in each egg cartoon sized thing. Each day at 2:50 we will water each plant. The first plant we will water 1 teaspoon of lukewarm water and another plant with 1 1/2 teaspoon of lukewarm water for about 2.5 - 3 weeks. We... |
Conclusion | Our conclusion is that we are still unsure of how much water the plant needs because Tobys seed 2 didn't grow at all and Yoavs seed 1 didn't grow at all and Benjamins seeds both grew but Seed 2 grew more. |
About this Project |
This team was organized, and took initiative in their project. They made an excellent presentation showing their results and conclusions. |
Updates
Wow, Team!
You all got really interesting results. And I totally agree that there is some conflicting information there. It's possible that there were other factors that affected the germination of your seeds separately, including that the seeds may not have been good ones to begin with. Very, very cool! Great job putting the presentation together, and congratulations on an awesome experiment.
Farewell and Best Wishes
As this research project is now in the final stages of wrapping-up, we wish to thank everyone who participated in this inquiry; the students, mentors, teachers and others behind the scenes. We appreciate all of your efforts and contributions to this online learning community.
Scientific exploration is a process of discovery that can be fun! There are many unanswered questions about plants just waiting for new scientists to consider, investigate, and share.
After the end of the session, we will be updating the platform and archiving groups and projects, after which time new updates/posts will not be able to be added to projects or groups. Please come back and visit the PlantingScience Project Gallery anytime to view this project in the future. You can search the Gallery by keyword, team name, topic, or school name.
Good bye for now.
Warm regards,
The PlantingScience Team
Hi team!
In order to maintain student privacy, please DO NOT post last names, links to Google or Sharepoint documents, or social media handles. We will remove them as we find them.
We have removed a Google docs link from this page. Please share files (Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, Power Point slides, images) in the "Files" tab to the left of this text area.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Hi Team!
I checked out your experimental design, and it looks great! Very exciting! How is the project going? Any germination yet?
Hi Team,
It has been brought to my attention that we cannot access or request access to Google docs in order to preserve your privacy. Please upload files you want to share with me or your mentor to the "Files" tab on the project page (can be found on the top-left, under your avatar).
Apologies for any confusion this has caused. Please ignore any requests for access to the document.
Thank you.
Hi everyone,
Please welcome your team's scientist mentor, Melanie Bayles! Say hello, and check out the cool plant research she does by reading her profile.
