Sus Seeds.

Project by group iamsciupekfall2021

Explore We are testing the different effects of salt water on plants. We are doing this experiemnt because some locations do not have fresh water. We want to see the long and short term effects this will have on the plants.
Research Question How do seedlings grow with different salinity levels in the water?
Predictions Our hypothesis is that the process to germinate will delay when using higher salinity level waters.
Experimental Design We are testing by using two different types of seeds. We water each with the same amount of water daily, but the water is either fresh, brackish or salty (ocean level). We are measuring the height and the time it takes to germinate.
Conclusion In the end, our experiment was correct with the hypothesis but more drastic, The alfalfa plant with fresh water grew, but the plants with brackish or saltwater did not grow. Our final claims are that fresh water is best for germination of plants and our other claim is that mold is bad for plant germination. We think that the reason for this was because the water we were giving them was moldy, and not covered. If we maybe keep the waters in containers our outcome could have been different.
