Explore Plants can't grow in the dark. There's a lot more steps to planting then just watering and making sure there's sunlight. Why do plants grow in sunlight and not darkness?
Research Question Question 1: What would happen if you put orbeez in your plant ? Question 2: What will happen if you put salt in the water? Question 3: What would happen if you put Guinea pig droppings in the soil?
Predictions For the orbeez we predict that the orbeez will help the plant grow because we will have to give the plant water and orbeez only grow with water. If we put salt in the water and then give to the plant we think it will die because it will give it unatral water that kills it because of the chemicals. The guiney pig droppings will help the plant because it will help the fertilizer.
Experimental Design Our plan is to put orbeez in the soil. If you didn't know what orbeez are they are little balls that if you put the in a bowl of water they will absorb the water. We thought that the orbeez will absorb so much water that they won't let the plant have any, but the orbeez will not absorb all the water because at a certain point the orbeez will stop growing and then they won't be able to absorb any more water. We think that the orbeez will keep the plant moisturized because on the outside the orbeez stay wet which will let the plant keep wet. First what you need to do is get your plant, then you will fill you''re 20oz. gatorade/vitamin water bottles that you cut at the top rim with the cap facing up with scissors and pour soil into you're bottle you will put orbeez in the bottom of the soil, the middle of the soil, and the top of the soil. As the plant grows the orbeez will get more big which will make the plant be more moisturized which will then keep the plant have more water.
