Big Baller Brand

Project by group fhsbaederfall2017

Explore Seeds that become germanized are going through cellular respiration, giving off carbon dioxide. When plants go through Photosynthesis they let off oxygen.
Research Question We want to study if the color of light affects the rate of photosynthesis. We know that light is used in photosynthesis, but we want to find out which color will increase the rate.
Predictions Lighter colors may increase the rate of photosynthesis. Taking prior knowledge that darkness decreases the rate, we are convinced that dark colors will do the same. Lighter colors are more closely resembling the sun, causing it to increase the rate.
Experimental Design We first started used spinach as the plant we wanted to test photosynthesis on. 3 beakers were filled with 150 milliliters. 1 gram of sodium bicarbonate was added to each beaker(mixed after). We then hole punched 30 leaf disks while avoiding major leaf veins. We then used a syringe to place the 10 leaf disks in. The plunger was pushed down to provide as little space for the disks without crushing them.
