The temperature of the soil, and seeds, can change the germination rate of the seeds due to the plant not being able to grow in certain climates. Seeds are constantly dormant but certain temperatures can take a seed out of being dormant or make a seed become dormant to avoid deterioration. |
Research Question |
Does the exposure to heat affect germination? |
Predictions |
If we germinate plants at temperatures of around the temperature ranging from 39 degrees F to 40 degrees F the seed will be dormant then If we use temperature from 65-85 degrees F, Then we should be able to triangulate the perfect temperature for the best germination of the radish seeds in the temperature of 65-985 degrees F. |
Experimental Design |
Our experiment focused on five bags in two temperatures one at 70 degrees and the other at the Higher end of 85 degrees. This showed the radishes are a cooler weather plant. |
Conclusion |
We have finished our experiment and our hypothesis was correct because it stated that if the seeds were left at a high temperature for a long amount of time it will die. Through research we have found that the radishes in the control group did better at cooler temperatures ( 70 degrees fahrenheit). Then the independent group had a higher temperature closer to 85 degrees Fahrenheit and didn't germinate as compared to the room temperature. |
