Project by group dmsgraywosspring2023

Explore We know what photosynthesis is, and how the water cycle works, and things like that. We don't currently have any questions about plants that interest us.
Research Question How does seed size affect their germination rate?
Predictions The germination rate will increase with seed size.
Experimental Design Materials: 10 Pea Seeds of varying sizes 10 Pearl Millet Seeds of varying sizes 2 Petri dishes Water Paper Towel Ruler Graduated Cylinder Procedure: Cut paper towel to fit Petri dishes Dump 10 milliliters of water into each petri dish Place each set of seeds into different Petri dishes (Fava bean in one petri dish, pearl millet in the other) Place Petri dishes in a sufficiently lit area, and add water as needed (when the paper towel dries out) Record Total Growth each day in millimeters Repeat Step 5 for 8 days
Conclusion The growth rate increases with seed size.
