Explore What do you know about plants? What questions do you have? Use this space to list the facts or ideas you know before starting your research, as well as things you would like to find out more about. plants start as seeds you need to give plants water, soil, and sunlight all plants go through photosynthesis and cellular respiration Why do plants need to go through both photosynthesis and cellular respiration? plants get nutrients from soil. plants start as seeds you need to give plants water, soil, and sunlight all plants go through photosynthesis and cellular respiration Why do plants need to go through both photosynthesis and cellular respiration? plants get nutrients from soil. - Sophie
Research Question How do different liquids affect the plant's growth?
Predictions I think that water is going to be the most successful because plants are meant to use water and I think other liquids will make the seeds moldy and stop germination.
Experimental Design procedure: put 2 table spoons of liquid and then start measuring in centimeters for 6 days and see which one grew the most.
Conclusion Our claim we could make is water helps the plants grow the best. An explanation could be that the plants did do the best in water because the other liquids were not suitable for the plants and water had all of the nutrients that a seed needs. Our data supports our claim because it shows water has the biggest plant measurements out of all of the other liquids/plants which our prediction was correct water did do the best. We could in the future avoid the coke and vegetable oil because those 2 liquids stopped germination and the plant didn't grow.
