Plants produce oxygen for us to breathe.
their mass is primarily from carbon dioxide.
They make a sugar called glucose
they let out oxygen as an output
if the temperature is cold how do some plants survive?
When does a plant stop growing? |
Research Question |
How does the type of liquid affect the germination of a seed? |
Predictions |
If we give each seed a different liquid, then the plant that we give the water to will grow the most. |
Experimental Design |
We each would have 2 seeds, a plastic bag, and a teaspoon of different liquids. Then we would give the two seeds the liquid and after a few days, we would measure the length of the roots to see which one grows the most. |
Conclusion |
Claim: The Difference in liquid does affect the amount of germination of a seed
Evidence: The Seeds that had water and milk as their liquid had taken 1 week to germinate. The seed with soda as its liquid Grew a little bit. The one with the mouth was as its liquid didn’t grow a little it did not germinate at all. You can see this on the graph on slide 7. During the first couple days of the infestation, I observed the plants and I saw the water one not growing at all just like the other ones. but then on the last day, it grew a lot. But the one with mouthwash didn’t grow at all.
Reasoning: So I believe that the difference in liquid does affect the amount of germination of a seed because the water and milk seeds grew a lot but the seed with the mouthwash did not grow whatsoever. And on my graph, it shows it also on the data analysis too. When I started with my project I put 10 drops of each liquid into its plant then I put it in the bag and left it so the seeds will grow. When I woke up I was surprised that the water one did not grow even a little. Nothing grew and that was not that surprising. After a couple of days, they still didn’t grow and I kinda lost hope but then one day the milk and water seeds grew a lot and the soda one grew a little but the mouthwash one didn’t grow at all. |
