Explore seeds come in many different shapes and sizes. plants are still alive when they are seeds. Plants use photosynthesis to make food. They also use cellular respiration.
Research Question Can a corn plant grow under filtered light?
Predictions If you change the color of the light, then the seeds will germinate at a slower rate when under the red and blue lights.
Experimental Design 1 put corn seed in soil 2 place three corn seeds under the light 3 one under the red light one under the blue light and one under the white light 4 water regularly and observe changes 5 record germinate changes over growth
Conclusion claim: A seed can germinate in colored light. Evidence: When I look at our summary table all of the colors have at least 7 seeds to germinate. The one that had all 13 seeds germinated was red. Reasoning: This is not what we expected. Based on websites red and blue were the most effective but blue was one of the worst and white witch is the most unaffected color and yet it was better than blue. The red light worked the best because the red light represents the sun so the plant can grow better. White and blue donĀ“t really resemble the sun so mabye the plants needed more time to get use to the color light.
