Explore I know about perennials and annuals. I have learned that perennials are plants that do not grow back every year and annuals do grow back every year without having to replant them. I wonder how trees stand up and what plants mate.
Research Question How does the amount of salt in water correlate to the bendiness of celery?
Predictions If you add more salt to the water then the celery will be bendier.
Experimental Design Step 1: Get celery sticks & cut them with a scalpel. Cut into 3 thin pieces (Less than 1.5 cm will be considered a thin piece of celery) & 3 thick pieces (More than 1.5 cm is a thick piece.) Have 3 cups filled to the top, with Tap water, 30% salt and 50% salt. Step 2: Measure the length and width of the celery sticks & make a data table. Step 3: Put one thin & one thick piece into each cups of water (same cup). Step 4: Leave the celery in for 2-3 days and after the days are finished take the celery out & measure the length and width of the celery that has been soaking. Step 5: Measure the celery for each of the days 1-3 to see how they increasingly bend. Independent Variable: Amount of salt in the water Dependent Variable: The bendiness of the celery
