Explore Plants take CO2 and expel oxygen. Plants perform something called photosynthesis where they get energy from sunlight.
Research Question Is celery discoloration caused by salt?
Predictions No, celery discoloration is not caused by salt. It is caused by exposure to room temperature air.
Experimental Design 1. Collect nine identical beakers and cut celery into nine similar pieces nine centimeters long. 2. Fill three beakers to the top with salt water concentrations of 0, 5, and 10%. 3. Fill three beakers to the halfway mark with salt water concentrations of 0, 5, and 10%. 4. Fill three beakers 1/3 full with salt water concentrations of 0, 5, and 10%. 5. Put a piece of celery in every beaker. 6. Let sit overnight. 7. Record results next day.
