Agronomy Feeds the World: Team Pumpkin

Project by group cmsmulcaheyaftwfall2021

Explore I knew plants get water from the rain and nutrients from the ground from outside of school. I did not know that plants use static electricity to propel water up to their tubes and suck it up through little hairs on their leaves. A question that I have about plants is why chlorophyll is green.
Research Question Is the depth of the plant affected by the seed if it is planted 2 inches down?
Predictions We believe the top container will grow the fastest and get the most nutrients. This is because the top container's seed will get the most light. The bottom seed I believe will be the frailest because it has less room to grow. The middle container we think will have a little less sunlight and a little fewer nutrients so it will not have enough of anything.
Experimental Design We made 3 containers, one with the seed half an inch down, the next another half an inch, and the next another half an inch. We watered each of them equally and have each of them with equal sunlight.
Conclusion Miguel Waston/ What we can claim is that the depth of the seed does not correspond to the growth of the plant. a possible explanation for this is they are still getting the same amount of water, sunlight, and soil. I think the growth difference is really from the number of seeds planted when my group first started. A good experiment to do in the future does the number of seeds that make a difference in the growth of all the plants.
