Different plants survive with different levels of water. Succulents, bamboo, and cacti are plants that require very little water. While sunflowers are plants requiring lots of water, so different plants can live in different levels of saturation. We are going to measure how different levels of water content will effect the growth of the cFern spores. |
Research Question |
How will different levels of water content effect the growth rate of the cFerns spores? |
Predictions |
We predict that the cFerns spores that are given 6 water drops will have the fastest growth rate. |
Experimental Design |
We will plant 4 spores, the control is 3 drops of water each time you open the lid to the petri dish it will be in. Spore 1 will get 0 drops, Spore 2 will get 6 drops of water, and spore 3 will get 9 drops water. This experiment will start on April 9th, start to give the spores the correct amount of water according to the experiment on the 11th and will continue until April 27th. The spore will sit on top of agar and will stay in a greenhouse. We will measure the growth rate by measure the percentage of spore in the petri dish through using surface area. We will do so by putting a graph on top of each to measure the surface area of the spores and compare it to the total surface area of the petri dish. |
