One thing we already knew about plants is that they are fixed in one place. This means that they don't move. One thing that we learned about plants is that they have chlorophyll. This is a green pigment that is necessary for photosynthesis. What is the purpose of leaves to a plant? Can plants feel pain? What helps a plant grow faster? |
Research Question |
How does Sun exposure affect flower growth? |
Predictions |
We are predicting that the side of the tree with more sun exposure will have more, healthier flowers, versus the side with less exposure, which will have less, unhealthy flowers. |
Experimental Design |
Our plan is to observe the tree's growth and how it is affected based on one main factor: the amount of sunlight it receives. What is the sun's role in the growth of blooming flowers on the tree. We will test the size, quantity, and the healthiness of the flower. We will conduct the experiment by paying close attention to the tree and what parts get the most sunlight for the longest amount of time. Our control will consist of a flower plant that gets an equal amount of sunlight throughout the day. |
