Research Question | we want to find out how to curl a celery plant |
Predictions | What will you need to know in order to complete the project? |
Experimental Design | Step-by-step procedures here |
Conclusion | What claim can we make from our experiment? What are possible explanations for our results? How do the data we collected and our reasoning with scientific ideas support our claim? What future experiments could be done to expand on the results of this experiment? |
About this Project |
The students had a clear research question, made predictions and made a focused research effort. Their experiment worked nicely! Ducks29 had a clear goal: make a celery curl. They researched how they could achieve the goal and they made an experiment. And succeeded! I especially liked that... |
Updates
Hello team! I am glad you made it, congrats again. However, last two nights I could not sleep because you left me wondering: Why did they use ice water instead of normal or hot water? What is special about ice that makes célery curl?
Have a nice weekend!
Wow! It worked! Well done team. Congratulations!
Are last day is wendsday thank you for all your help hopefully we win have a good holiday good bye
We think the celery will curl because in our research we found out that the ice will make it curl because the water will make it crumble also our last day is wendsday thank you for helping us and hope you have a good thanksgiving
we are cutting the celery into thin strips then were are putting the strips into ice water to see if it will make it curl
Sounds great, Jarrett! And why do you think ice water will make it curl?
Hi everyone! My name is Agustina and I will be a mentor of your team. I currently study tropical plants that live on other plants (they call them "epiphytes"). I love skating and tree-climbing and of course I love science!
Hi my name is Lexmar and I like football and basketball im 12 and im excited and I hope we all have fun and im happy to be in this project and I loveeeeeeeeeeee DUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys! My name is Molly and I will be the mentor for your team this fall. I am a PhD student at the University of South Alabama where I study submerged aquatic plants that grow under water in Mobile Bay. I think that plants are really cool and I am really fascinated by how many different things they can do!
When I'm not at school I really like to run for exercise. In fact, I am training to run a marathon in November (26 miles!!!).
I look forward to working with you this fall. I hope I can change your mind about how cool plants are! ;-)
