Sara has been teaching middle and high school science since 2006, after she graduated with her degree in Geological Sciences from Cornell University. She spent the first nine years of her teaching career in New York City, where she mostly taught high school Earth Science at Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School. While there, she also ran the drama department and directed the school musical every year. She really enjoyed directing so she took improv classes at Upright Citizens Brigade and also taught an improv elective. In 2015 she moved back to her native San Francisco where she taught high school biology for 2 years and now is teaching middle school science at the San Francisco Friends School. She spends a lot of time outside at the park with her 18 month old son as well as at informal science institutions like the aquarium, zoo, and SF Discovery Museum (her son loves fish and giraffes!).
