Hey team! I just read the updated project information-- sounds like you guys had a successful experiment! Based on your experimental design and your conclusion-- do you think that if you left the green light for long enough eventually your discs would float? Do you think using leaf discs from different types of plants would have the same result/conclusion?

Sorry for my belated response, I was away for thanksgiving and now attending a research conference which has kept me ambit preoccupied. But I've read your experiment proposal, and now seen the photo and it looks/sounds great! You hypothesized that the wavelength will affect photosynthesis-- will you take any quantifying data to capture this? If so, what? Do you think the plant has any ability to compensate for reduced available wavelengths? Do you think that the cellophane itself will have any impact on the plant and would you see any changes to the plant if you used a clear cellophane? I think you have a good idea with your hypothesis and I suspect you will see differences-- Im looking forward to hearing how this experiment progressing!

That's very cool! I've never done an experiment like this and its really interesting that the leaf disks floated up so quickly--  I wonder if plants that are more 'shade adapted' would float up more or less quickly? Do you think that under different wavelengths the disks would float up at the same rate?

That's really exciting you get to design your own experiment, what kind of questions/ideas do you all think you want to test?
