  • Describe your teaching experience and interests in a brief public biography (200 words)
I began teaching as a Peace Corps volunteer (1985-87) in Niger, where I taught English. I then taught English in Egypt and when I returned to the US. I took graduate biology classes while teaching at the university and got certified to teach biology in 2006. However, I have only taught Earth Science in the public schools because I am certified to teach that and there is a lack of ES teachers here.
