  I am interested in non-chemical methods of controlling powdery mildew, a common fungal pathogen on edible crops, and understanding the circadian responses of powdery mildew in strawberry and grape. My research is focused on altering spectral conditions, either through supplementation or the natural variability in transmission properties of protective structures and observing growth responses. Powdery mildew species are particularly amenable to these studies due to their prolific growth in protected environments (e.g. greenhouse, high tunnel) and their growth mainly on the exterior of plant tissues.

I just took a look over your slides and things look good, Goobers. Great job! The slides were easy to follow and understand. This is key to letting other people repeat your experiment and see for themselves what happens.

A few comments:

1) Hypotheses are challenging for me to create. I like that the group thought different leaf pigments might cause the differences seen under different light colors. If it is any help to you all in the future, think of a hypothesis as surprisingly simple as can be. Something like "more ice cream is sold on Saturday and Sunday than weekdays", which then can lead to another hypothesis "people crave more sweets when they don't go to work that day", and on and on.  The more simple a hypothesis is, the easier it will be to test, and the easier to build on the observations you make in each experiment.

2) I would love to know what you learned after the experiment that you had wished you knew in the beginning.

As long as you kept it the same for both experiments it's OK. If you were to repeat this experiment again in the future you may want to consider if this is an important factor.
