Profile Question 1When and why did you decide to go into a science career?
-
Answer the question you selected for profile question 1 here (300 words):I decided I wanted to be a scientist in 3rd grade, when I realized it could explain the many things I was curious about. Science was exciting- I loved my science classes! It was then in 8th grade that I decided I wanted to be a biologist.

Profile Question 2What is best about being a scientist?
-
Profile Question 3What is your favorite plant? Why?
-
Answer the question you selected for profile question 3 here (300 words):Milkweed (Asclepias). Probably, specifically butterfly milkweed because it is so pretty! But milkweed because it is the sole food source of the monarch larvae and I love monarch butterflies! Also I find the co-evolution of this particular host plant and the insect fascinating. And also because I think weeds are nearly always vilified by the average person.
