  • Profile Question 1
What is best about being a scientist?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 1 here (300 words):
The best thing about being a scientists is the variety in the work you do. Scientists wear many hats. One week you may be collecting samples in the field, rain or shine, and the next you may be analyzing those samples in a climate controlled laboratory. I love that I am never bored!

  • Profile Question 2
What is your favorite plant? Why?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 2 here (300 words):
My favorite plant is a lemon tree. My grandmother grew them in her back yard along with succulents and fresh herbs. The smell of citrus fills me with happy memories of playing with my cousins outside and the carelessness of summer when the world is magical.

  • Profile Question 3
Can you describe your attitude toward science when you were in high school?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 3 here (300 words):
I enjoyed my biology classes in high school, but found chemistry to be agonizing. Balancing equations and valence shells seemed out of context and boring to me. It was not until I began to think of chemistry in terms of biology that I became excited about chemistry.

I read your experimental design, and it looks nice. It stated that you would add 10 mL of soapy water to one of your plants, but will you also add 10 mL of non-soapy (normal) water to your control plant? Even if you are watering…
