  • Role
Scientist Mentor: I will mentor teams of students online

  • Research Interests (300 words)
I am interested in the evolution of complex traits, plant ecophysiology, and global change ecology. Currently, I am studying the evolution of C4 photosynthesis from an anatomical and physiological perspective. I am also interested in translating physiological data into a greater scale at the ecosystem and biome level. All my questions involve considerations of global change, as it has affected both past evolutions, and will drive future evolutions.

  • Profile Question 1
What is your favorite plant? Why?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 1 here (300 words):
I think trees are amazing, but if I had to choose one, it would be tamarack (Larix laricina). There's no deeper reason other than I like the shape that the needles form on the branches and how they turn gold in the fall.

  • Profile Question 2
What is the coolest thing you have discovered or learned about plants?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 2 here (300 words):
There are three different types of photosynthesis!

  • Profile Question 3
