  • Profile Question 1
What is best about being a scientist?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 1 here (300 words):
I enjoy the trial-and-error process when researching. Also, it is very satisfying for me to have the final product of a research project, for example, learning how plants respond to stress, improving crop yield, or helping maximize the use of natural resources.

  • Profile Question 2
Can you share a funny/interesting lab or field story?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 2 here (300 words):
During my MS studies, we were in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and my research partners and I could not share a car to the research location, which was 1.5 hours away from my house. I studied goat browsing behavior (why goats eat certain plants) back then. Since I did not have a car, I had to camp in a remote location surrounded by goats. It was a great experience.

  • Profile Question 3
What is tough about being a scientist?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 3 here (300 words):
You never have enough time to do everything you want. Usually, as scientists, we want to do more than our time allows us to do.

I was a very curious kid and in high school, two teachers introduced me to planting sciences, where I worked with soybeans, beans, and corn. Since then, I wanted to learn more abotu plants.
