  • Profile Question 1
What lessons have you learned in your career about how science works?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 1 here (300 words):
Science is just empirical investigation. The greatest thing I've learned is that the quality of the science is as much determined by the question your asking, or what investigation you're doing, as by how hard you investigate it. Thinking about what we want to know and why is actually the most important part of discovery

  • Profile Question 2
When and why did you decide to go into a science career?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 2 here (300 words):
I decided I wanted to go into science sometime in elementary school, once I figured out that death was terrifying. I decided, at the age of seven or eight, that the only way to face this fear, was logically: to figure out what caused aging and stop it and thus achieve immortality.

To me, science wasn't just the answer for the big picture questions of the world (why, how, what) but also the way that we make sense and deal with it. Understanding a problem is the first step to fixing it and therefore science was the way I decided to make the world a little better

Hello all! Well it seems that you're able to predict your results fairly well. I think you guys are right that the sugar in the soda is likely what contributed to the mold in that treatment, but it's a shame, since you won't know if the…

Very interesting data! How do you expect the mould to effect your results? Obviously mould wasn't something you initially accounted for, and might be variable (by chance) between treatments, but if all treatments have an equal chance of mould,…
