  • Profile Question 1
What is best about being a scientist?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 1 here (300 words):
My favorite part about being a scientist is always being able to ask questions, and have the tools to actually try and answer them.

  • Profile Question 2
What is the coolest thing you have discovered or learned about plants?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 2 here (300 words):
Polyploidy - having more than the "standard" diploid 2 copies of the genome - is well studied in plants, and is something I was introduced to very early on in my scientific career, but continues to blow my mind every time I spend more than a few minutes thinking about it.

  • Profile Question 3
What is your favorite plant? Why?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 3 here (300 words):
While I don't study it, Camellia sinensis is probably my favorite plant - it's the tea plant!
