Describe your teaching experience and interests in a brief public biography (200 words)
Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in the field of environmental science as a wetland scientist in the New England area. I wanted to bring my knowledge and love of science to the classroom so I became a teacher in 2010. Working in an urban environment, in a school with limited resources, makes it more challenging to develop a hands-on, nature-based curriculum. I am hoping this program will allow my junior ecology class to experience science first-hand in a very meaningful, inquiry driven, platform.
