Si solo comiéramos comida sólida y no bebiéramos agua ¿qué pasaría? Cuando les falta aporte agua, las plantas activan un mecanismo de emergencia que consiste en usar el agua almacenada en sus propios tejidos para producir alimento. Logran sobrevivir así un tiempo, pero si no llueve acabarán por secarse.

Estas preguntas son muy interesantes para que investiguemos un poco más y hagamos un debate. ¿Ustedes por qué creen que las plantas son importantes para nosotros y para los ecosistemas?

Propongo que busquen información sobre la importancia de las plantas y construyan un mapa conceptual (pueden googlear mapa conceptual para guiarse sobre cómo hacerlo). Los mapas conceptuales son muy útiles para ordenar ideas y relacionarlas entre sí, los científicos los usamos todo el rato para contestar preguntas.

Entonces las plantas que no reciban agua empezarán a utilizar el agua almacenada en sus propios tejidos para producir alimento y acabarán por secarse.

Sin embargo, la luz puede tener distintos efectos sobre las plantas, dependiendo si esa luz es suficiente o escasa. ¿Podrías concretar tu pregunta un poco más? Para hacer preguntas más concretas, hay un truco: Tú ya sabes que la luz tiene un efecto sobre las plantas, pero te preguntas cuál es. El siguiente paso es buscar rápidamente una respuesta. Then plants without watering will start using the water stored in their own tissues to produce food and they will end up drying out.

Helyn, light provides the energy needed to convert nutrients into food. However, light can have different effects on plants, depending on whether that light is sufficient or low. Could you specify your question a little more? To ask more specific questions, there is a trick: You already know that light has an effect on plants, but you wonder what it is that effect. The next step is to do a quick search. You will find that light can have several effects, depending on whether there is too much, enough, too little, or no light.
