  • Describe your teaching experience and interests in a brief public biography (200 words)
I've been teaching at the university level since 2007. I began teaching Environmental Science to non-science majors as an Adjunct and taught about a dozen sections of the course. Now I have a staff position as a Writing Learning Specialist, and part of my position is to teach 2nd semester freshman writing specifically for science majors. Over the course of each spring semester, my students generate an 8 page research proposal. I also review papers from all disciplines (including lab reports) throughout the entire academic year. In the past, I was the Manager of School Programs at a local arboretum, and designed plant-focused programs for k-12 students.
