  What was the first science experiment you ever designed? How did it turn out?

  First experiment I designed was my undergraduate research project entitled, "Isolation, characterization and biomolecule analysis of freshwater green algae Chlorella sp. throughout growth. I was successfully able to isolate Chlorella sp. and demonstrate the amount and types of biomolecules present in microalgae differ with the growth phase.

  It happens to me often. When I introduce myself as a plant biologist, people ask me the names of plants they see around. And I am bad about naming plants because I am phycologist and plant molecular biologist. Then I have a hard time explaining them why I study algae.

  The most amazing I feel about being scientist is that even I read some research works on plants that are unrelated to my field, I know a little bit about it. So I don't need to stand alone in any conversation and if I like the work I can go back and read more.
