    I study diseases of plants grown for food, like wheat and corn. My research focuses on the biology and genetics of fungi and the ecology of agricultural systems. I am also interested in the interaction between people, plants, and the environment.

Hmm, that's a good question. I know that the alcohol, PVA, that you used is often part of seed treatments for use on farms - so I'm not sure that would stop germination. The borax though is a type of salt, and maybe it is preventing the…
