Describe your teaching experience and interests in a brief public biography (200 words)
I participated in every outreach activity I could find while working on my PhD in neuroscience. Afterwards, I started working as a science teacher at Ideaventions, a small private STEM school for the gifted. I have taught chemistry, earth science, and biology to students in grades 4-11. My goal is for our students to participate in authentic, meaningful scientific inquiry as often as possible. Planting Science was used at our school by a previous biology teacher, and she spoke very highly of it, so I would like to introduce it back into our curriculum this year.
