What is your favorite plant? Why?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 1 here (300 words):
Carrots! It was the first vegetable I planted as a child!

  • Profile Question 2
When and why did you decide to go into a science career?

  • Answer the question you selected for profile question 2 here (300 words):
As a child I made the connection between the importance of the soil, water and sunlight to a plant's ability to produce the food we depended on. What remained a black box for me was how the plant was able to make the conversion. As a child, I wanted to know how plants did this magic. It still remains a burning question for me now, even after all of these years.

  • Profile Question 3
What is best about being a scientist?

Dear Alexa

Thank you for the update.

How were you able to come to that conclusion? What did you see or notice that made this the best explanation? Did you make any other  observations or noticed other things that may explain the result?

Dear Shea

That is a great question. There are many colors that make up the "visible (what we can see) spectrum (part of) light. Do you know what they are?

Take care
