Describe your teaching experience and interests in a brief public biography (200 words)
This is my 12th year as a science teacher, 9th at DeWitt Public Schools as a 7th grade science teacher. I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors Degree in interdepartmental biology and with an integrated science endorsement. I also completed my Masters Degree in teaching and curriculum with a specialization in science education at MSU. I currently teach 7th grade science and two science elective courses (Outdoor Science and Mysteries in Science). Prior to teaching at DeWitt Junior High I taught at Fowlerville Community Schools (high school chemistry) and Ashley Community Schools (Earth science, physical science, physics and chemistry).
I live in DeWitt, Michigan with my husband, two sons (14 years and 7 years) and daughter (5 years). In my free time I enjoy reading, running, coaching cheerleading and playing volleyball. My newest favorite activity is volleyball. While these are my favorite hobbies, my family takes up most of my time!
