I would like to see my students interacting with experts in science and develop a deeper understanding of the process of science. I have done this before and the students were constantly challenged by the scientists and asked to justify why they made decisions and how they were looking at the data. It was a different dynamic than with me. It is important for them to be able to reach out and get a better understanding of who scientists are and what they do. As for me, I can insight as to answering the questions students have for me in meaningful ways that turn the work back on them. The scientists we have worked with in the past are encouraging but challenging in their feedback. It help me develop new ways in which I can provide valid feedback to my students.
