This experience will be part of our AP Seminar class. The students are sophomores and juniors. This authentic research experience will allow students to experience in-depth academic research, project planning and execution. They will need to respond to varying factors and adjust research procedures. The interaction with expert scientist allows for insight into the world of professional communication, while giving a "face" to the professional scientist. The student must ultimately pull together multiple data and make reasonable conclusions. The students also will develop a poster and present at our poster session attended by teachers and administrators.  This year the students will explore the challenges to sustainable agriculture by investigating specific abiotic stresses using the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana .
