About Our Class

  • Teacher: Evelyn Gray
  • School: DeWitt Middle School
  • Grades: Middle School Students (grades 6,7,8)

What We're Doing

  • Planning to Start: 3/13/23
  • Planning to End: 4/28/23
  • Theme: Agronomy Feeds the World (where does food come from?)
  • Expected Breaks: My students are on Spring Break from March 24 - March 31.
  • Course: Science Outdoors

Our Outcomes

Planting Science provides an excellent opportunity for my 6th - 8th grade students to collaborate and use the investigative process. If given this opportunity, students from DeWitt Middle School will experiences not only a hands-on inquiry based project but they will also improve on their communication skills by working with a team, sharing their progress with a scientist and presenting their results. In Agronomy Feeds the World, I hope that my students will gain a better understanding of where their food comes from, what essential nutrients plants need to grow and why soil health is important. In my course, Science Outdoors, I am seeking to encourage science education through real-world problems. Feeding the world definitely qualifies!
