About Our Class

  • Teacher: Beth-Ann M Shepley
  • School: Avon Middle-High School
  • Grades: High School Students (Grades 9,10,11,12)

What We're Doing

  • Planning to Start: 2/25/20
  • Planning to End: 3/27/20
  • Theme: The Power of Sunlight (photosynthesis and respiration)
  • Expected Breaks: 13-Mar-20
  • Course: Grade 9 Honors Biology

Our Outcomes

Students will have begun thinking about the importance of photosynthesis from an ecosystem perspective--but will have very little preparation about the specific biochemical details of photosynthesis or cell respiration. We will be using the PlantingScience module as a way to get students to think more deeply about the role of photosynthesis (and cell respiration) within ecosystems. In addition, students will be able to continue to develop their hypothesis-testing, experimental design, and data analysis skills.
