Research Interests (300 words)I am interested in the evolution of complex traits, plant ecophysiology, and global change ecology. Currently, I am studying the evolution of C4 photosynthesis from an anatomical and physiological perspective. I am also interested in translating physiological data into a greater scale at the ecosystem and biome level. All my questions involve considerations of global change, as it has affected both past evolutions, and will drive future evolutions.

Profile Question 1What is your favorite plant? Why?

Answer the question you selected for profile question 1 here (300 words):I think trees are amazing, but if I had to choose one, it would be tamarack (Larix laricina). There's no deeper reason other than I like the shape that the needles form on the branches and how they turn gold in the fall.

Profile Question 2What is the coolest thing you have discovered or learned about plants?

Answer the question you selected for profile question 2 here (300 words):There are three different types of photosynthesis!
